HomeMy WebLinkAboutNCG080799_2020 Inspection Hugh Medford Center_20210208GREENSBORO NORTH CAROLINA WATER RESOURCES February 8, 2021 Rich Lovett, Environmental Compliance Support Manager Hugh Medford Operations Center City of Greensboro 400 Patton Avenue Greensboro, NC 27406 RE: Industrial Compliance Inspection Inspection location: Hugh Medford Municipal Operations Center 400 Patton Avenue SW Permit#: NCG080799 Dear Mr. Lovett: On December 8, 2020 the City of Greensboro Stormwater Management Division completed an industrial compliance inspection of Hugh Medford Municipal Operations Center. Local regulations permit an inspection of industrial facilities under authority granted by City of Greensboro Code of Ordinance Chapter 30, Article 12, Section 7.1 (C-5). This inspection consisted of two parts: a review of the facility files/records and an on -site facility inspection. The inspection was performed by Debbie Shoffner and Elea Reyna Ocampo, and the following deficiencies/observations were noted during the inspection. Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan/Spill Plan Review Site Maps and SWP3 • Update maps to include drainage areas percentages and all BMPs. • Include all BMPs and housekeeping measures in plan (such as efforts made to improve the truck wash runoff). • Construct and/or implement housekeeping protocols, including schedules, staff assignments for all areas, etc. Spill Prevention and Response Plan • No deficiencies observed. Monitoring • No deficiencies observed. This may include assigning staff to major staging areas to ensure housekeeping procedures are routinely assessed and remedied. Non-Stormwater Discharges • Implement procedures, BMPs, or structural changes to prevent truck wash wastewater from discharging into the stormwater system. • Implement procedures, BMPs, or structural changes to prevent excess sediment in all areas on site from discharging into the stormwater system. It is recommended that Hugh Medford Municipal Operations Center take appropriate actions to correct the noted deficiencies.
