Proposed Facilities: Applicant plans to construct a septic tank/ sand filter system followed by chlorination which will eliminate his existing failing nitrification system. The treatment units would consist of the existing septic tank, followed by a lined subsurface sand filter and a chlorine contact basin. Page Two The applicant's next door neighbor currently operates a system identical to the above. The discharge for both facilities would be in the exact same place, therefore, the applicant could possibly utilize his neighbor's chlorine contact chamber as part of his own system provided the combined discharges are held for the necessary 30 minute detention period. Plans and specifications submittdd-for this project should denote this stipulation. Part III - RECONIMNDATIONS AND/OR SPECIAL CONDITIONS It is recommended that an NPDES Permit be issued for this proposed discharge. a A -iisnp"l t 1-7 Nj j I or V1 .41 Jlv, 4 NORTH CAROLINA DEPT.
