Ok, makes sense.
I'm not entirely sure since I never spoke with the old ORC (Larry Carver). I think a couple years ago they were planning
on rehabilitating them but never did (probably due to funds).

If a component is no longer in use, the permit writer may delete it from the list of treatment components on the
Supplement to Permit Cover Page. Many older WWTPs are littered with treatment gear that was taken off line but never
removed. That's probably why the filters at Corpening Creek were removed from the permit.
If they aren't in use, they really shouldn't be in the permit.
However, if they are repaired, we will certainly add them back in, and show them as part of the treatment system.
Why would the ORC want them in the permit if they aren't in use, and can't be used?

Hi Charles,
It was noted on the last Compliance Evaluation Inspection report that the ORC (that ORC is no longer there) wanted the
tertiary filters to be added back to the permit. These filters are still not in use. They would like to use them again
someday, but are unsure how that could financially work since they would completely need overhauled. Should they
remain off of the permit even though they are still at the facility?
Also, I couldn't figure out when/why they were removed in the first place if you have any insight on that.
Thank you,
Lauren Armeni
