Stormwater Narrative
Shallotte Microtel
Brunswick County, NC
TE 01094
The total drainage area of this project is 1.90 acres. A proposed building is being
constructed with 8,156 sf. An asphalt access and parking area will total 33,019 sf. A
complete 43,057 sf of impervious area (1,882 sf of sidewalk) brings the total built upon
area to 52.0% impervious.
Stormwater runoff will be handled by a wet detention pond designed to exceed the states
requirement of the first one inch of runoff. This pond will drain to the Lumber River with
Classification of C-SW HQW. A vegetated filter is not required due to the 90% TSS
removal used in the wet detention design.
