A site visit was conducted at the Hilco Transport Inc. terminal located at 100 Export Drive in New
Hanover County on Tuesday March 8, 2011, by Division Representative, Linda Willis. The purpose of
the visit was to investigate a complaint that was forwarded to the Division of Water Quality by Bobby
Nelms, with the Division of Waste Management, concerning a truck wash discharge. The result of the
visit confirmed a discharge of wastewater is occurring at the facility from the truck washing activities.
You were advised to discontinue the discharge until a remedy for discharge could be provided.
It was also determined that your facility located at 100 Export Drive, requires an NPDES Stormwater
Permit. Enclosed are a notice of intent (application form) for the NPDES General Stormwater Permit
NCG080000, and two technical bulletins.
