You are invited to a community meeting for a review of the Pigeon River Reintroduction Project.
This meeting is being hosted by Blue Ridge Paper Products with Cocke County Mayor Iliff
McMahan,Jr.:

Dr. Larry Wilson,University of Tennessee, Dept. of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries will be leading
a presentation on the work that they've been doing.
Mr. Jonathon Burr with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation(TDEC),
Water Pollution Control Division began working with UTK Fisheries in 2001. A plan was launched
to reintroduce native non-game fish species into the Pigeon near Newport, Tennessee. In early 2004,
the fish reintroduction project was expanded into North Carolina with the aid of the North Carolina
Wildlife Resources Commission.
I hope that you can attend this session and learn about the progress that has been made and plans for
the future.
