Good morning Amy
John Dorney told me at the site meeting that we could go ahead and plant the buffer at any time So the trees have
already been planted in order to get them in the ground before the winter weather set in to increase survival rates We
told the landscaper to plant the trees randomly at a minimum of 10 spacing and to avoid any clustering of the same
species I meant to have a note on the plan stating that tree species would be planted randomly and I have revised the
planting plan to include this note
Please review the attached revised Planting Plan and let me know if the additional note is sufficient

did receive your letter I apologize for taking a while to get back to you
The species (as John Dorney stated in the field with you) are fine However on the plan sheet it Just shows that the three
types of trees will be planted It doesn t show the three species will be spaced out so all of the elms won t be planted
together or all of the maples won t be planted together You can Just email me a revised plan sheet showing generally
the spacing of the species of trees I can issue a letter once I have that
The final approval letter would be issued once either I or the Regional Office visas the site to confirm the trees are
planted

Just got back —stream flows into pond and out of pond and in the middle of pond (duh) Troy wants to plant the buffer
along the new stream have someone from DWQ visit to look at the plantings and then move the regulated buffer from
the edge of the pond to be adjacent to the new stream Sounds like a good plan to me He had a tentative list of
plantings including red maple which sounded fine to me but 111 let you buffer types discuss that

The pond within the Alston Pond project was drained over a year ago and the stream channel within the bottom of the
pond has stabilized I would like to schedule a site meeting with you to review the stream channel for a stream /buffer
determination as well as reach an agreement on the tree species to be used for the stabilization of Zone 1
The project site is located in Holly Springs at the terminus of Old Adams Road I have attached a USGS Quad Map for
reference Please let me know when you would be available to conduct the site visit
