RETURN OF APPLICATION
Dear Mr. Kirkland:
On February 3, 2012, the Division of Water Quality (DTQ) received your application dated January 27, 2012
to impact, 180 square feet (W) of Zone I protected riparian buffers and 120 square feet (ft2) of Zone 2 protected
riparian buffers for the purpose of accessing a pier system. IOW Q has determined through correspondence with
the Division of Coastal Management (DCM) that the project was permitted through the DCM General Permit
Process and the Neuse River Riparian Buffer impacts were approved through the Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) between DWQ and DCM. Therefore, we are returning your application package and
withdrawing your request. Please continue to follow the conditions of the GP and the Buffer Authorization for
Piers & Docks (enclosed).
Please call Amy Adams of the Washington Regional Office at 252-948-3917 or Ian McMillan of the DWQ
Central Office at 919-807-6364 if you have any questions regarding or would like to set up a meeting to discuss
this matter.
incerely,
For Charles mild,
