Dear Mr Winslow
Reference the Department of the Army (DA) permit issued to you on January 8 2007 to
expand the existing Stumpy Point Ferry Basin located off North Carolina State Road 1164 near
the community of Stumpy Point, in Stumpy Point Bay Dare County North Carolina Also
reference your subsequent written request dated October 21 2011 for a permit modification to
deepen the State Emergency Ferry Channel and Basin from the current authorized depth of 8
mean low water (MLW) to 10 MLW
The proposed modification will stay within the existing current parameters of the channel and
basin resulting in the dredging of approximately 19 704 cubic yards of material
This modification request was coordinated with the appropriate State and Federal agencies
and the coordination revealed no objections to this modification request Therefore the permit is
hereby modified in accordance with the specific work activities described above and in the
enclosed plans It is understood that all conditions of the original permit remain applicable and
that the expiration date is hereby changed to December 31 2016 In addition the permittee will
comply with the following special permit conditions
a All work authorized by this permit modification must be performed in strict compliance
with the attached work plans, which are part of this permit Any modification to the permit
plans must be approved by USACE prior to implementation
I - - -� - - - -b The permittee shall require its contractors and/or - agents to comply with the terms and— -- - - -- —
conditions of this permit in the construction and maintenance of this project, and shall provide
each of its contractors and/or agents associated with the construction or maintenance of this

project with a copy of this permit and any authorized modifications A copy of this permit and
any authorized modifications, including all conditions shall be available at the project site during
construction and maintenance of this project
