On January 25, 2011 Roberto Scheller of the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) conducted a Compliance Evaluation Inspection (CEI)
of the L.J. Body Shop located off Hwy 264 East of Washington. At the time of site visit the subject project was nearing completion.
This Office and Ms. Emily Jernigan of the US Army Corp of Engineers, in the Washington Field Office, reviewed the request to place
two (2) one thousand gallon propane tanks within wetland area between the back of the building and upland parking area. The Corp
and DWQ concurred that the concrete blocks that the tanks sit on would only constitute incidental fill and no permit modification is
required. While on -site an inquiry was made in regards to mowing wetland area around building and back parking lot. The mowing of
the wetland area around building and back parking lot is a allowable activity; however, please be aware that a wetland preservation
area exist at the back of the subject property and this area should not be mowed.
At time of inspection the subject project appeared to be compliant with the General Certification 3705. If you have any questions
please call Roberto Scheller in the Washington Regional Office at (252) 948 -3940. Please note that this letter is to report findings of a
Compliance Evaluation Inspection (CEI) and does not authorize any impacts to either Waters of the United States or Waters of the
State. Please contact the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or NC Division of Water Quality (DWQ) if any additional impacts
are proposed.
