As discussed in our meeting, attached for your file is a copy of our modified site plan showing the Weant Road/NC 62 intersection shifted further to the east as required by NCDOT to allow for greater spacing between I-85 interstate ramps. No additional wetland or stream impacts occurred as a result of this relocation. As part of this modification request, we would like an extension of the compensatory mitigation fulfillment utilizing the Ecosystem Enhancement Program (EEP) as outlined in condition #7, which requires payment one month from the date of the approval of the 401 certification. Because we are still awaiting issuance of the 404 permit, we would like to request an additional 60-days to make the payment to EEP. In addition, condition # 9 states that a final stormwater management plan shall be submitted within 60 days of issuance of the 401 certification. We would like to request a 30-day extension for the submittal of the final stormwater plan. As discussed during in our meeting, Wolverton & Associates is currently finalizing the stormwater plan and will be submitting the plan for DWQ review under a separate cover within the next two weeks. Also as part of this modification, we would like to request a change in the permit language that allows for the option of phasing the stormwater plan in order to construct the stormwater BMPs for the light industrial area at a later date if the client desires to do so. Lastly, as part of the modification, the wetland impacts have been reduced by 0.01 acre by the addition of a retaining wall, which will reduce the overall project impact from 1.58 acres to 1.57 acres. The previously proposed sewerline crossing has also been relocated and will be bored under Muddy Creek, eliminating the temporary impacts to 0.01 acre of wetlands and 21 linear feet of stream channel.
