SUBJECT: Willette Subdivision
Facilities, Records and Monitoring
Granville County
Permits No. 9932 through.9941 were issued for 10 residence type .
(450 gpd) spray irrigation systems. On February 22, 1984, we received your
proposal for monitoring the subject facilities. These items have been
reviewed and are found to be satisfactory.
• The following items should be checked and records maintained for each
system at the frequency indicated.
1. Report of system function and state of repair - Monthly.
2. Pump counters (spray field pumps) - Monthly.
3. Chlorinators - Biweekly check until usage rates are
established.- monthly thereafter for chlorine use.
4. Complete system function report including power consumption,
maintenance, total data summary - annually.
5.. Soils - annual samples for-NCDA'analyses.
Sampling related to wastewater should be conducted as follows-.
1. Effluent samples, before and after -chlorination, taken at...
random - minimum should be monthly, after chlorination -.-
Analyze for fecal coliform.; BOD TKN, NH4-N, NO -N.
2. Groundwater monitoring wells, gdarterly-samples. _
Analyze for nitrates and fecal coliform.
3. Surface water samples, semi-annual.

Before construction begins, the following items should be resolved.
1. Locate and construct monitoring wells for groundwater.
This should be coordinated with Mr. Ed Berry of this office.'
2. Conduct soils sampling for NCDA analyses.
3. Analyze -groundwater samples for nitrates and fecal coliform.
Please note that7,--this information generally corresponds to those items
outlined in -,your February 20, 1984: letter. Since studies of these systems
will -be ongoing, youshould contact.us when.changes.in operation or monitoring
requirements are -deemed necessary. Should you have any questions regarding
these systems, please contact us.
