conducted at the subject facilities on January 8, 2003 by Mr. John Lesley of this Office. Please

enclosed reports.

The facility appeared to be well operated and maintained. A new chlorination feed system has been
installed. Sodium bisulfite is used to dechlorinate the discharge (not included in NPDES Permit
description). A new Stevens Ultra Sonic Flow Meter was installed on November 6, 2002. No violations
were reported 10/01-11/02.

1. The facility appears to be well maintained and operated. The WWTP is undergoing rennovations of the
tertiary filter system. A new motor has been installed on the #r`1 blower; the facility has been freshly
painted; and new chlorinators and sulfur dioxide feed systems have been installed. Influent pump station

bar screen upgrades are scheduled.
2. The £low.meter-was last calibrated by Ron Dunn on August 6, 2002.
3. No violations were reported in the period October 2001 through November 2002. All samples are
maintained at four degrees celsius during collection and shipment. A new meter (Hach DR 2400, MDL 20
ug/1) has been purchased for TRC analysis.
4. Sludge is taken to the Hickory Compost Facility for treatment and disposal.
5. The effluent•was turbid (due to construction on the tertiary filters) but did not appear to'be
impacting the receiving stream.
