NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP
FOR PROPOSED TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS TO U S 158
FROM EAST OF N C 34 IN BELCROSS TO N C 168 IN BARCO
TIP Project R 2574 WBS No 38802 1 1 Camden & Currituck Counties
The North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) will hold the above
citizens informational workshop on January 23 2012 from 4 to 7 p m at Central
Elementary School in Currituck County located at 504 Shortcut Road in Barco
The purpose of this meeting is to provide information regarding the proposed
project and to obtain public input Interested citizens may drop by any time during
the meeting to view the project maps and discuss the project NCDOT
representatives will be available in an informal setting to answer questions and
receive comments regarding the proposed project The opportunity to submit written
comments or questions will be provided and is encouraged There will not be a formal
presentation
This project proposes to improve U S 158 from east of N C 34 in Belcross to
N C 168 in Barco U S 158 will be widened to four lanes with a 46 foot median
The new lanes will be added to either the north or south side of the existing road
The project will require additional right of way may involve the relocation of homes
and businesses No designs have been prepared yet for the project only general
information will be available at this workshop Comments received from the public
will be used in the preparation of project designs
