Please name the document "Year 2 Monitoring report comments-1-13-12". I do not need a hard copy. Thank you! Katie From: Merritt, Katie Sent: Friday, January 13, 2012 10:42 AM To: 'Tommy Cousins' Cc: Higgins, Karen Subject: Carl Lloyd Monitoring Rprt- Comments Hi Tommy, I have the following comments /questions concerning the Carl Lloyd Year 2 Monitoring Report: • Please identify the approximate plot size for each plot in the text in Section 2.0 of the monitoring report. Please use four significant figures. The current size indicated in Table 2 is 0.02 and that does not appear to be correct when calculating the stems /acre. Please also use four significant figures in Table 2 as well. (I'm assuming the correct size is .0247), but I need the report to reflect that specifically. • Figure 2 shows encroaching in parts of the buffer restoration. Please explain how the conservation easement encroachment specifically affected parts of the buffer restoration, what measures were taken to restore the mowed areas where restoration was affected, and how you plan to prevent the encroachment in the future (ex. Did you talk to the landowner ?) • There are large numbers of Sweetgum found in VP -6, and VP -7. Does the presence of this dominant species appear to adversely affect the overall success of the planted species? Please provide your comments. • Level II requires that Natural Stems less than 10cm be ignored and not counted. According to the data, there is a height class of 0 -50cm. For future monitoring reports, please revise this height class to be 10 -50cm and only count natural stems that fall in this category to be consistent with the Level II protocol. Revisions to the current data to reflect this change are not required for this report. However, if EBX has a specific reason for including natural stems less than 10cm, please provide me with an explanation. Credit Ledgers— Nitrogen: the available credit balance on the ledger provided shows 12,357.53 lbs. The exact number should be 12,357.94. Please correct the total of available credits. Additionally, please add a column that shows the available balance in "acres ". Please put the following language on the credit ledger somewhere: "All sales reflected in this credit ledger are for impacts in the Upper New Hope Arm of Jordan Lake ". Please submit all of your sales receipts, I don't seem to have any in the file? I'm thinking they could have gotten lost when Lia left. Credit Ledgers— Phosphorus: Please add a column that shows the available balance in "acres ". Overall, things appear to be looking very good on this bank parcel.
