On December 27th, 2020, The Town of Burnsville had a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) at the OMC
Pump Station. Pump 2 went down with 2 separate holes in the volute, with these holes it flooded the
dry well by shorting out wiring to the sump pump. Once we got the dry well cleared out, wehad to wait
a little while, approximately 10 minutes before starting pump one up and leaving pump two off. We
were back online after 240 minutes and resulted in losing 72,000 gallons of which 40,000 gallons of raw
sewage reached the Little Crabtree Creek.
We worked with Russell from Charles Underwood, a pump repair company to come up with a repair for
our pump number two and to help us come up with a temporary plan to get the pumps to last until the
start of the replacement of the pump station. We have the OMC pump station on schedule to be
completely reconstructed and we are about 15 weeks out from getting the new pumps to start the
process.
Sincerely,
 Y
