Project is to replace an obsolete and deteriorating timber floor on I-beam bridge unit within the existing disturbed bridge footprint.
4i.Describe the overall project in detail,including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used:*
NCDOT contractor will install erosion and sediment control measures.NCDOT contractor will remove existing bridge unit,install diversion and place rip-rap,then construct new cored
slab bridge unit.An onsite detour will be utilized with staged demolition and staged construction.Bank stabilization materials will be permanently installed as soon as final grading allows.
Diversion/Dewatering structure will be removed and temporary impacts restored.The proposed bridge will be constructed utilizing the following equipment:crane,excavator,dump
trucks,paving equipment,pumps and hand tools.

The existing bridge is being replaced with a structure that is adequate for the traffic needs in the same disturbed location.The bridge structure was
designed for the minimum size criteria to ensure conveyance of traffic on the secondary road.The staged bridge demolition and construction will
reduce temporary impacts.

The onsite stream(Tellico Creek)will be temporary diverted/dewatered while the excavation and placement of rip-rap occurs.Erosion and
Sedimentation control measures will be installed prior to ground disturbance.Both of these measures will aid in the prevention of sediment into
downstream habitats.
