Mitch, I hope this email finds you well this morning and that you were able to enjoy the snow a bit yesterday. During a recent phone call with you, I provided initial notification that the City of Wilson was concerned that we may not be able to achieve our monthly average Effluent flow limit of 14 MGD for January 2021. This email is to pretty much confirm that expectation. I wanted to go ahead and let you know just in the event that I forget to officially call you on February 1g. Through the first 28 days of January 2021, we are averaging 15.14 MGD for our effluent flow. We started off the beginning of the month with localized flooding and our receiving stream flowing well above our discharge pipe (see attached images). That significantly impacted the flow from our facility by causing false high readings at our effluent flume. Our effluent flow meter essentially was maxed out for the first four days, and part of the fifth clay, of January 2021. As with probably most areas of North Carolina, it has been a very wet year for Wilson. The year of 2020 was reported as the second wettest year in recorded history for Wilson (please see attached article from the Wilson Times newspaper). We had significant amounts of rain at the end of December that impacted us at the beginning of January, and pretty much continued throughout the month. I will plan to give you a call next week with the final monthly average, but if you do not hear otherwise from me, please assume that we did slightly exceed our monthly average Effluent flow discharge limit of 14 MGD for January 2021. Please note however, we were compliant for all of our other regulated parameters, and even with this slight flow exceedance, our overall loading to the receiving stream for all regulated parameters will be well within the assumed loading limits for the allowed flow of 14 MGD. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns with regards this matter. Hope you have a great weekend! Sincerely, Jimmy 1 Jan 21 Final Effluent Date pH SU DO mglL Temp.
