Environmental Chemical Corporation is the Contractor. T.A. Loving, Co. is providing construction services and our firm along with Kimley-Horne are providing design services. The project has multiple components including the replacement of five (5) existing sewer lift stations of considerable age. Each of the five (5) replacements will have their own permit package. This Fast Track application covers the replacement of Lift Station AS606 and includes the following items. 1. This Cover Letter including a brief project narrative. 2. A check in the amount of $480 for the application fee. 3. One (1) original and One (1) copy of the application. 4. USGS and Street Level maps indicating the Lift Station replacement site. Project Narrative AS 606 is located at the Marine Corps Air Station — New Riverjust east of the intersection of Curtis Road and Flounder Road. The station is a duplex wet pit / dry pit configuration originally constructed in 1954. The current Average Daily Flow is 33,200 gpd. The existing force main is 4" diameter, 1,360 feet in length, and discharges to a gravity manhole located at the intersection of Curtis Rd. and Agan St. The average discharge rate from Pump No. 1 and No. 2 is 243 gpm from drawdown tests conducted on 9.24.20 and 11.12.20. MBD Consulting Engineers, P.A. 760-A NW Broad Street P.O. Box 1215, Southern Pines, NC 28388 Mr. Dean Hunkele Page 2 December 18, 2020 The following table summarizes the designation, year of original construction, configuration, Average Daily Flow, and pumping rate capability for Lift Station AS606. WATER & WASTEWATER SYSTEMS REPAIR — PHASE 2 PWD PROJECT NO. 19-0127 LIFT STATION AS606 Designation Yr. Built Configuration ADF Pumping Rate AS606 1954 Duplex — Wet Pit/Dry Pit 33,200 gpd 243 gpm Notes: ADF = Avg. Daily Flow. ADF amounts provided by Government. Pumping rates derived from draw down testing with one pump running. The replacement station will be constructed adjacent to Flounder Rd. approximately 300' east of the existing AS606Lift Station. Existing influent gravity main flow will be diverted to the replacement station. The existing 4" force main will be intercepted on site with a new 4" force main extending from the new station. Once the new station is placed in service the existing station and abandoned gravity main and force main will be demolished and removed from the site. Wetlands abutting Stick Creek are found just north of the site. The replacement station will maintain the 50' separation required between the station wet well and the wetland boundary. The replacement station will be poured in place concrete construction and will include a gravity influent channel equipped with a comminutor. The wet wells will be rectangular and equipped with three (3) pump slots. Two (2) of the slots will be occupied with the third for emergency use only. The target pumping rate for the AS606 replacement station will be 250 gpm (one pump running). No new flow will be created by this project. On behalf of Marine Corps Base — Camp Lejeune, we appreciate your assistance with review of this application.
