at fhe pipes Addittonally two 36 inch corrugated pipes are proposed toward each edge of ihe wetland (one on each edge) to help mainta�n hydraulic conduciivity fhrough the wefland The second we#iand cross�ng is af a 100 faot wide wetland swaie that drains into the Cogdels Creek wetlands No channel is present m this wetiand Three 60 inch corrugafed pipes wlth a(ummum headwalls are praposed at this wetland crossing 4 Jurtsdicfional Determination 2 The wetlands were del�neated by Tetra Tech m 2010 The wetland boundary was surveyed by Charles F Riggs and Associates and a �urisdictionai package was submitted fo the US Army Corps of Engineers A Junsdfctional Determination was issued by the lJSACE on March 24 2011 (Action Id SAW 2010 01798) D Impact�ust�fication and Mit�gation 1 a SpecEfically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing proJect Severaf d�fferent alternat�ves were mitialfy evaluated for the connector road An option that would begin at the end of Duncan Sireet and extend across a small stream and wetland was el�minated early in fhe process because of the steep terrain on the east side of the stream and extensive wetlands along the base of the slope Three Alternatives for the location of the tanEc connector road were developed and evaluated Using a consistent 50 foot wide corridor impacis were calculated for these fhree altemative rautings of the tank tra�f as shown on Figure 2 • Aliernative 1 impacted 29 900 square feet • Alternative 2 impacted 30 700 square feet • AlternatNe 3 impacted 27 800 square feet Based upon Alternative 3 prowding the feast am�unf of wetiand �mpacts design of Aitemat�ve 3 has been carried forward !t has been slightty revised #rom �ts init►ai al�gnment and the current des�gn is shown as 3B an the fgure In addition to alignment alternatives severai br�dging alternatives were alsa evaluated and compared There are twa prtmary wetland areas thai are crossed by Alterna#e 3 one crossfng is about 350 feet wcde and the second is about 150 feei wide ihe alierna#ives evaluated included .
