Town of Siler City, Chatham County
Dear Mr. Perlmutter,
The Town of Siler City is requesting to continue the reduced monitoring that was previously approved on our last
permit cycle (2015) for NPDES# NC0026441.We are requesting that the monitoring for BODs,TSS,Ammonia
Nitrogen and Fecal Coliform continue to be reduced to the criteria to two times a week.The attached data
(summarized in the following table) indicates that the WWTP effluent has exceeded the minimum criteria for
reduced monitoring. In addition to the test results attached, the Siler City WWTP follows all other criteria listed in
Section B Approved Criteria of the October 22,2012 guidance document regarding reduction of monitoring
frequencies.The data used for the analysis was for the period of January 2016—December 2018.
The Town appreciates the Division's effort to reduce the regulatory and monetary burden on systems that strive
consistently to provide exceptional wastewater treatment. We thank you for your consideration in this matter. If
