You have our approval m accordance wrth the conditions listed below for the follow�ng impacts for the purpose of
the emergency repa�r of NC 12 m Dare County This modificat�on approves the dredgmg of approx�mately 26,500
cub�c yards of sand from the mtertidal z`one as necessary to fill sand bags for`road fill slope protection at the Pea
Island and Rodanthe sites and also for dune reconstruct�on at the Rodanthe srte
The pro�ect shall be constructed m accordance wrth your application and revised aerial source map for Rodanthe
rece�ved v�a e mail September 8 2011 All the,author►zed activtties and condrt�ons assoc�ated w�th the origmal
Water Quahty Certification dated September 2 2011 and all subsequent modifications still apply except where
superceded by this certification After reviewmg your application we have dectded that these impacts are covered
by General Water Quality Certification Number 3703 This certification corresponds to the General Permit
192000048 is`sued by the Corps of Engmeers In add�tion you should acquire any other federal state or local
permits before you proceed with your pro�ect tncluding(but not limited to)Sediment and Erosion Control Non

This approval is valid solely for the purpose and design described m your application(unless modified below)
Should your pro�ect change you must notify the DWQ and submit a new application If the property is sold the
new owner must be gtven a copy of this Certification and approval letter �and is thereby respons�ble for complyuig
with all the conditions If total wetland fills for th�s pro�ect(now or m the futuie)exceed one acre or of total
impacts to streams(now or ui the future)exceed 150 luiear feet compensatory mingation may be requued as
described m 15A NCAC 2H 0506(h)(6)and(7) For this approval to remam valid you must adhere to the
condrtions listed m the attached ce`rtification
