we have not rece�ved a 401 Water Qualrty Certificat�on appl�cation for the proposed pro�ect but have
only rece�ved the Public Not�ce to date To that extent we reserve the right to furnish addrtional
comments to the USACE should review of the forthcommg applicat�on generate concerns beyond
those discussed m this commentmg letter
1 This Office submits that th�s pro�ect cannot be properly reviewed due to the general nature of
mformation contamed m the Public Notice and the small scale of the submitted maps Therefore
concerns regardmg impacts to resources and water qualrty cannot be properly evaluated at this
time These deficiencies tnclude
2 Currently we do not have a compensatory m�tigation plan DWQ cannot�ssue a 401 Water
Qualrty Cert�fication w�thout an approved m�tigation plan
3 Th�s Office was unable to locate an alternatives analys�s for other properties that were constdered
for this pro�ect and would lilce the applicant to address th�s concern
4 This Office requests that the applicant please locate the pro�ect boundanes on the most recent
bound and published Brunsw�ck County soil survey�and the USGS 1 24 000 topograph�c map for
the pro�ect at their published scales �
5 Th�s Office requests that the applicant please re submit your site plans on full plan sheets at a
scale of no smaller than 1 =50 with topographic contours shown
6 This Office requests that the applicant please provide cross section detaiis showing the provisions
for aquatic life passage

10 This Office would like to see your plan to stabilize the revetment The�mpacts currently proposed for
the revetment are 8 6 acres(4 7 are 404 wetlands 1 6 open waters and 2 3 acres of freshwater canals
wrthm the nce fields) However the Public Notice mentions that 2 5 more�acres will be needed m the
future when the existmg marsh erodes away Please discuss what is implied by this
