On behalf of the NC DWQ 401/Wetlands Permitting Unit, we respectfully request that you consider
the following comments within your review of the 404 Individual Permit request for the above
referenced property:
1. The application states that 540 linear feet of a side channel to the Ararat River will be
dewatered. It is underdetermined at this time if the channel will be filled and/or dewatered.
Please clarify the type of impact, if any, that there will be to this channel, and provide a
justification for the impacts.
