Dear Mr. Thomas:
S&ME, Inc., (S&ME) on behalf of Duke Energy hereby requests the U.S. Department of
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to Place On-Hold the subject application for a
Department of the Army Section 404 Individual Permit (IP). S&ME submitted the IP
application to the USACE on June 9, 2011. We understand that the current application is
about to go statutory with the USACE. In order to hold the application longer so that
S&ME may provide an amendment to include the additional FGD area (rather than
submitting a new application once the current application goes statutory), we request that
USACE put the IP application on hold while S&ME prepares an amendment.
