NOTICE OF A DESIGN PUBLIC MEETING FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO
US 70 CORRIDOR FROM FIRETOWER ROAD TO DAVIS MILL ROAD / STEPHENS
CHAPEL ROAD, INCLUDING INTERCHANGES AT THE INTERSECTION OF US
70/70 BUSINESS AND THE INTERSECTION OF US 70 AND ,
DAVIS MILL ROAD/STEPHENS CHAPEL ROAD

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold the above
Design Public Meeting on Monday, October 24, 2011, 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at
Johnston Community Church, 450 Janie Road, Selma, 27576.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide information regarding the proposed
project and to obtain public input. Interested citizens may drop by anytime during the
meeting to view the project maps and discuss the project. NCDOT representatives will
be available in an informal setting to answer questions and receive comments regarding
the proposed project. The opportunity to submit written comments or questions will be
provided and is encouraged. Please note: there will be no formal presentation.
This project proposes to improve US 70 from Firetower Road (State Road 2305)
East to Davis Mill Road / Stephens Chapel Road (State Road 2310). Interchanges are
proposed at the intersection of US 70 and US 70 Business/Peedin Street Extension
(SR 2308) and at the intersection of US 70 and Davis Mill Road / Stevens Chapel Road
(SR 2310). In addition, median closures are proposed at Firetower Road (SR 2305),
Creech's Mill Road / Peedin Road (SR 2309), Pine Street (SR 2534), Linden Street, and
a private driveway east of Davis Mill Road / Stevens Chapel Road (SR 2310).
