I've attached the normal signed NCDOT closeout request letter for the U-2524AB/AC UT to Hickory Creek (Sites #7, #17, and #28) & UT No. 9 to Bull Run (Site #1) mitigation sites that you're all used to seeing for your review and would request documentation stating that no further monitoring is required and that the site is closed. This can be done by either the normal closeout letter that you send or electronically. Of course if anyone would like to receive a paper copy I'll be more than happy to send one to you. I hope you all have a good weekend and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Jason C. U-2524AB & U-2524AC, Action ID No. 200321137; DWQ Project No. 030909 Mr. Williams: As you are aware, the Department has monitored the UT to Hickory Creek (Sites #7, #17, and #28) stream relocations since their construction in February 2006 and UT No. 9 to Bull Run (Site #1) since its construction in March 2005. The stream relocation sites are located in Guilford County adjacent to the US 73 Greensboro Western Loop. Sites #7 and #17 are located at Sta. 11+60 -40SB REV- (Site #7) and Sta. 11+00 -40SB REV- (Site #17) and provide 952 linear feet of stream relocation for impacts associated with the U-2524AB project. Site 428 is located at Sta. 29+00 -40SB REV- and provides 935 linear feet of stream relocation for impacts associated with the U-2524AB project. UT No. 9 to Bull Run (Site #1) is located at Sta. 57+80 Lt. -L- and provides 198 linear feet of stream relocation for impacts associated with the U-2524AC project. The stream relocations were constructed and revegetated with appropriate hardwood species. Per permit requirements, NCDOT was required to monitor the stream mitigation sites for channel stability by visual observation on a biannual basis for five years or until success criteria were met. During the monitoring period, biannual monitoring reports were submitted to the appropriate regulatory agencies via the PDEA Natural Environment Unit's (NEU) website: httn: //www. ncdot. oraldoh/nreconstruct/ne/neu/Monitorinr/MonitorinQReDorts. html MAILING ADDRESS: TELEPHONE: 919-707-6000 LOCATION: NC DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FAX: 919-212-5785 CENTURY CENTER BUILDING B PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS 1020 BIRCH RIDGE DRIVE 1598 MAIL SERVICE CENTER WEBSITE. WWWNCDOTORG RALEIGH, NC 27610 RALEIGH NC 27699-1598 After five years of vegetation and stream stability monitoring, the UT to Hickory Creek (Sites 97, #17, and 928) and UT No. 9 to Bull Run (Site #]) stream relocations indicate that the planted vegetation is surviving and the streambanks remain stable at this time. Individual biannual monitoring reports are available on NEU's website for 2006-2010. A site visit was conducted to all sites on August 2"d , 2011 with the regulatory agencies and NCDOT personnel present. It was determined at that meeting that the site success criteria had been met and that no further monitoring would be required. NCDOT requests that the appropriate resource agencies provide documentation stating that no further monitoring is required and that these sites are closed.
