Work is underway to complete the construction of the western bent in the river. The bent on the east side has
been completed. Beams should be set over the river in the next week or so. Contractor is trying to complete all
work in or over the river by October 15.
Sediment and erosion control structures appeared to be working properly with no sediment loss to the Nantahala
River.
Continue to maintain erosion control devices and continue with seeding, matting and mulching as required to
protect State surface waters.
