1. The discharge from the locally approved wet detention pond must be discharged through a
correctly designed level spreader-vegetated filter strip (LS-VFS). LS-VFS design requirements
are described in Chapter 8 of the North Carolina Stormwater BMP Manual, available at:
http://portal.ncdenr.org/web/wq/ws/su/bmp-manual. Please see the third and fourth row of Table
8-1 for LS-VFS design standards downslope of a wet detention pond.
Please provide LS-VFS Supplement form, available at:
http://portal.nedenr.org/web/wq/ws/su/bmp-manual. Please include all of the required items
listed therein.
