Green, PE City of Durham Public Works Department 1600 Mist Lake Drive Durham, NC 27704 Subject Property: Southern Reinforcing Main - Phase II UT to Northwest Creek [030605, 16-41-1-17-(0.7), WS-N; NSW] UT to Little Lick Creek [030401, 27-9-(2), WS-IV; NSW] REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION Dear Mr. Green: On August 30, 2011, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated August 29, 2011 to fill or otherwise impact 7,947 square feet of Zone 2 Neuse River basin and Jordan Lake watershed protected riparian buffer to construct a waterline. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to impact protected streams and buffers on the subject property. This project is on hold and incomplete until we receive the additional information requested below. If we do not receive the requested information, your project will be formally returned as incomplete. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: 1. Please indicate the width of the construction and maintenance corridors. 2. Three streams are depicted on the Durham County soil survey that are not shown on the Figures. For Example: Figure 1.3 shows one stream depicted on soil survey with potential parallel impacts and bore and jack impacts. Has DWQ made buffer determinations for these three streams? If so, provide letter. If not, buffer determinations will need to be conducted by DWQ. 3. Please include in buffer impact table whether impacts are permanent or temporary. You should assume that the maintained easement would be considered a permanent impact. Please submit three copies of this information within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter.
