The North Carolina Department of Transportation is constructing a road project in Guilford County impacting Randleman Buffer Rules. The NCDOT must impact additional buffers to relocate a lift station impacted by the road project. The North Carolina Ecosystem Enhancement Program accepted a previous payment from NCDOT for these buffer impacts associated with the road project. The purpose of this letter is to request that NCWRP to accept payment to accommodate the construction of a lift station associated with the road project. Table 1 summarizes impacts to buffers with the associated required mitigation ratios. ;Table 1. Based on a cost of 0.97 cents per square foot, the NCDOT will pay $18,168.10 to the WRP to provide the necessary buffer mitigation for this project. The NCDOT requests such a letter of confirmation be addressed to Mr. John Hennessy of NCDWQ, with copies submitted to NCDOT.
