Located in Brunswick County, adjacent to the bridge over Davis Canal on Middleton Avenue on Oak Island, this 0.046-acre site was monitored for temporary wetland impacts associated with the k-2245 project. I'he temporarily impacted area where the erosion control devices were located was left to revegetate naturally and must re-attain jurisdictional status at the end of three years; hydrologic monitoring was not required for this project. According to pern~it conditions, NCDOT was required to monitor the Second Bridge to Oak Island Temporary Impact Site for three years or until success criteria were met, with vegetation monitoring conducted each year. After each growing season, annual monitoring reports were submitted to the appropriate regulatory agencies via the Natural Environment Unit's (NEU) website: http'//h>v~.'tit~. ncdol. orb/doh/preconstrtrc't;pc'inetr;'Munilojā€¢ins;iMunitnrirr.~~Repurts. hlm/ After one year of vegetation monitoring, the Second Qridge to Oak Island Temporary Impact Site indicates that natural re-vegetation has occurred and the temporarily impacted areas have re- attained jurisdictional status. Individual annual monitoring data is provided within the monitoring reports a~~ailable on NEU's website in 2010.
