Please explain how you will accomplish this during construction especially given the time of year (October) you propose to start and potential for large rain events. NCWRC standard construction practice is to pour the concrete ramp on high ground away from the stream or lake and push it into final position with a bulldozer. This process is called push slab construction and prevents contact of the curing concrete with surface waters. Local weather forecasts are consulted when scheduling concrete pours; any large rain event such as a tropical storm will result in rescheduling the concrete pour thereby preventing the curing concrete from being contacted by rainfall and being carried into the stream or lake via runoff. If there is a chance of a local un-forecasted rain event, plastic sheeting sufficient to cover the curing concrete is on hand to prevent curing concrete from being washed into the stream or lake.
