Subject: DWQ Project #2008-1814 V1 - pipe size change
DWQ staff met on site at the House Creek Greenway Project with Greg Purvis (Wetherill Engineering) on 8/15/11 to
discuss replacing the culvert at crossing #3 with a larger size pipe (24" diameter to 36"). Mr. Purvis stated the reason for
the increase in diameter is to accommodate the storm flow that is now washing out the greenway during large storm
events and delivering loads of debris that are blocking the smaller size culvert. Mr. Purvis stated that the length of the
culvert will remain the same and the he has instructed the grading contractor to place Class 1 riprap below the pipe to
dampen the velocity. DWQ stated that no written approval by DWQ was necessary.
