Page 10 of 10 DAVI S FLUYD REIDSVILLE OPERATIONS CENTER Sediment, Erosion Control & Stormwater Project Narative Duke Energy plans to construct a new entrance drive, off of Moss Street, for access to the existing Reidsville Operations Center in Rockingham County, NC. The site is located off of Moss Street, north of the intersection of Moss Street and Highway 29/158. It consists of 1 parcel; 168272. The existing site is gently sloping, mostly wooded. The site is bordered on the west by Moss Street and on the South by Hwy 29/158. The project will consist of construction of 724 LF of asphalt drive, associated storm drainage, and all appurtenances connecting the Reidsville Operation Center to Moss Street. Soil erosion will be controlled with the use of perimeter silt fence, two sediment traps, and a series of diversion swales. Approximately 2.35 acres of area will be disturbed during construction. Several temporary diversions will be utilized to direct flow into the sediment basins. Silt fence inlet protection will be installed concurrently with the installation of the new storm drain piping. Calculations for temporary sediment trap sizing are found under Tab 5. Erosion control measures were designed in accordance with NDDENR Erosion and Sediment Control Planning and Design Manual, 2006 edition.
