The DWQ agrees that the NCDOT can cease monitoring of the site and request close out. Should you have any further questions, please let me know. Thank you. The first part is what I passed out in the field (with one correction concerning cypress gum swamp preservation). I've added a table at the end that summarizes the impacts and mitigation proposed and accepted. There was discussion about the possibility of DOT banking any additional mitigation credits for future use. Concerns about past decisions that were made in order to agree to an acceptable mitigation package were discussed. There were also concerns about temporal loss associated with impacts. The DOT would like to propose that the total mitigation acreage (91.94 Ac) provides adequate compensation for wetland impacts (6.9 Ac) associated with U-92 A/B corridor. This proposal 1 is to close out the 3rd Street Mitigation Site, as it has completed the 5 year monitoring requirement. The impact numbers and mitigation numbers were what I found while looking through our files. If anyone has any additional information, please let me know.
