Sue,
Things are moving forward but there are many issues. We have met with the USACE recently to go over some
impact/mitigation ratio issues, I'm about to send Scott some info on preservation mitigation to see how much credit is
available. We went through the A&M info we plan to submit with Scott and Amanda to get their impression as to
sufficiency. We met at the site with SELC and Western NC Alliance to discuss their issues. Bottom line is we plan to have
things ready in the next month or so although getting the plans ready for you on both the relocations and off-site mitigation
may take a little longer. I would like to request a 60-day extension on submission of the requested information. We also
understand that the 401 process is different in some respects from the 404 and that agreement we have received from
USACE regarding sufficiency of response information, mitigation ratios, or other project elements does not obligate you or
DWQ to necessarily agree to the same. Please let me know if you need any additional information to process this request.

Hey John,
Happy Friday. Can you give me an update on this project. My hold letter dated 4/25 required a response in 60 days.
know this project is substantial and you may not have worked through everything yet but I need to know a schedule.
can grant some extensions but if reality is that this is not going to be moving very fast then I need to know that so we
can decide how to handle this open application. Thanks.
