U-0092A Third Street Bridge Mitigation Site (New Hanover County) -The third year report was generated in 2008. There does not appear to be a fourth year report from 2009 included on the website. There have been some vegetation issues associated with this site in the past, which appear to be ongoing. The DWQ is interested to, see if the issues at this site have improved. If they have not, then it is suggested that the NCDOT consider other options to replace the required mitigation associated with the construction of Smith Creek Parkway. If necessary, potential options will need to.• be discussed with the appropriate resource agencies for approval. Resource agency staff visited the .. site on April 29, 2009 and it was agreed that the hydrologic monitoring could cease. The NCDWQ appreciates the opportunity to provide comments on your mitigation site monitoring. •'- Should you have any questions or require any additional information, please contact David Wainwright at (919)715-3415. cc: Tom Steffens, US Army Corps of Engineers, Washington Field Office Brad Shaver, US Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington Field Office Jennifer Derby, Wetlands and Marine Regulatory Branch, Environmental Protection Agency, Atlanta Travis Wilson, NC Wildlife Resources Commission (electronic) Steve Sollod, Division of Coastal Management Mason Herndon, Division 2 Environmental Officer Garcy Wazd, DWQ Washington Regional Office Ken Averitte, DWQ Fayetteville Regional Office ;,.File Copy:q,
