DWQ has reviewed the proposed stream and wetland mitigation plan included with the above-referenced application.
DWQ concurs with the proposed enhancement and preservation activities at this site.
This project is deemed issued.
Please note that the Mitigation Plan proposes monitoring of the enhanced wetlands for five years. USACE and EPA have
determined that forested wetlands require longer monitoring periods (per the 2008 Federal Mitigation Rule). Since
planting is proposed, please verify with USACE that the required monitoring will be seven years instead of five years.
Also, the monitoring plan (Section 5.0) should include quantifiable goals for the invasives monitoring and the survival of
planted trees.
