Dear Mr. Seltzer:
On May 10, 2011, 1 inspected the construction work for the new bridge over the Nantahala River on US
Highway 19-74 in Swain County. Construction is underway on the temporary bridge and approaches.
Sediment and erosion control structures have also been installed and appear to be working properly.
Please ensure that all sediment and erosion control structures are maintained and that seeding and mulching are
performed as needed to protect State surface waters. A copy of the inspection report is attached to this letter.
