Based on the observations portions of the rear slope have erosion and some instability. The instability was observed as sloughing and ground movement most likely the cause of erosion over time. The undulating rock surface and the rear slope are prone to erosion. Due to the known structural distress to the main structure, observed erosion and localized instabilities the rear slope should be buttressed to structurally stabilize the land mass to provide long term structural stability of the main structure. A segmental wall with washed stone and geogrid support is anticipated at the toe of the slope on a footing embedded to the rock or firm subgrade to provide the support and protection needed. The wall should begin at the toe of slope approximately 30 to 40 feet from the structural elements. Sincerely, David Miller, PE DEM/11 DDM-0421 C
