PROJECT SUMMARY: The applicant proposes to cover an existing uncovered boat lift with a roof, add 2 PWC lifts and a wet slip. Wesley M. Measamer Bayside Shores Beaufort County Proiect setting The project site is located off SR 1182 at 654 East Bayside Drive in the Bayside Shores Subdivision on the Pamlico River near the Town of Chocowinity in Beaufort County, North Carolina. The Bayside Shores Subdivision is an existing development with lots situated with the Pamlico River and/or Chocowinity Bay on one side and a man-made canal system located on the other. The lot is approximately 0.35 acres (15,412 ft2) in size and has approximately 75 linear feet of shoreline on the Pamlico River and 75 linear feet on a man-made canal. Man-made features on the lot include a single-family residence, impervious driveway, partial bulkhead on the river shore, 13 5' long pier with 565 ft2 of platform in the river with one wet slip. The man-made features on the canal side consist of a bulkhead, 375 ft2 uncovered boatlift, 173 ft2 of platform (which includes a 12' by 6' floating platform) and a swing personal water craft (PWC) lift adjacent the bulkhead. The 12' by 6' floating platform is currently used by the homeowner to provide access for maintenance of the boat. CAMA General Permit No. 52765-B was issued on 4 August 2009 for the construction of the wet slip, uncovered boatlift and PWC lift. The total number of existing slips is three. The lot is approximately 3.0' in elevation above the normal water level. The water depth in the existing boat lift slip is f4.0'. The lot is mostly vegetated with lawn grasses and ornamental shrubs. The adjacent property, upstream and downstream are both developed with single family dwellings. Both adjacent properties have a bulkhead and boathouse on the southside of the lot in the canal. The downstream property has a pier in the Pamlico River and its shoreline is stabilized with a bulkhead. The upstream property has no shoreline stabilization in the river nor does it have a pier. Both the adjacent properties are similarly vegetated with lawn grasses and ornamental shrubs. The Pamlico River is classified as SB NSW by the Environmental Management Commission at the project site. The Pamlico River at this location is Coastal Waters and is not open to shell fishing. Proiect description The applicant proposes to cover the existing uncovered boatlift with a 36' by 17' (dripline) roof in order to accommodate the existing boatlift and the addition of 2 PWC lifts. The applicant also proposes to install one 14' by 14' wet slip adjacent the pier located in the River. The existing catwalk along the outside of the proposed boathouse drip-line will be removed which totals f 16 W. Anticipated impacts The project will result in localized turbidity as a result of the installation of the PWC Lifts and wet slip. Approximately 1.0' of the boathouse roof drip-line will be located over uplands. Therefore, the existing catwalk and proposed cover on the existing boat lift will result in the shading of 598 ft2 of canal bottom. The addition of the three fixed slips will bring the total number of slips for this property to six. Kelly Spivey - 24 March 2011 February 15, 2011 Wesley M Measamer 654 E. Bayside Drive Bayside Shores Chocowinity NC 27817 RE: Proposed Boat House Project Narrative The proposed boat house is needed for our river house to store our 22' ski boat and two 10' jet skis. The boat and jet skis are used each summer by our family of four. The proposed boat house will provide the needed protection from the elements for the watercraft to prevent sun and rain damage. This boat house will cover the existing boat lift and allow for a covered jet ski lift. Our plans call for the boat house to match the existing house in materials and color. We are also requesting to set two piling on the river side of our property. We currently have two pilings which are used to tie off the ski boat during the day and prevent damage from the boat hitting the pier. The second requested set is for our day guests to tie up their boat and avoid damage from hitting the pier. Thank you for your time and consideration. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or if any additional information is needed. Wesley M. (Marty) Measamer 654 E. Bayside Dr Chocowinity NC 27817 (252) 71 -9791 r' r ?'
