We have received and reviewed the Wetland and Floodplain Monitoring Plan for the
South Buffalo Creek Stormwater Wetland Project. The plan is adequate and complies with
Condition # 5 of Water Quality Certification # 010263. We hope that the monitoring will
provide useful information with which to assess potential impacts to undisturbed areas and the
regeneration of disturbed patches.
The reporting requirements of the plan stipulate that monitoring take place over a five-
year period beginning in the summer of 2004. Two copies of the annual monitoring report will be
submitted to DWQ in March beginning in 2005. We look forward to reviewing the results of this
innovative effort to treat urban stormwater run-off. Please contact Ed Schwartzman of my staff if
you have any questions or concerns.
