The project site currently exists as a residential mobile home park
along Leak Creek in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, NC. The project
vicinity is primarily composed of scattered residential development,
undeveloped forested areas, and some agricultural land. The project
proposes to expand and improve the existing mobile park for future
use. As part of the expansion, the project proposes to clear and
grade an area along the eastern boundary of the existing parcel to
add new mobile home lots. Additionally, the project is proposing the
construction of a new road into and through the mobile park for
access to the additional mobile home lots. The road will
perpendicularly cross Leak Creek within the project area. A box
culvert will be installed to carry Leak Creek under the proposed road
crossing. Typical site preparation and construction equipment will be
utilized, including bulldozers, excavators, graders, cranes, dump
trucks, concrete trucks, and pavers. It is assumed that the project will
qualify for authorization under a Nationwide Permit 29 (Residential
Developments) or a Nationwide Permit 14 (Linear Transportation
Projects).
