Please give a brief project description below. *
The area currently being leased to NCWRC and used as a public
boat ramp facility is approximately 2.67 acres of a parcel of land
owned by the City of Greenville that is 22.58 acres. The site has a
gravel loop road and gravel parking for cars and cars with boat
trailers. The adjacent land uses are residential and vacant city owned
property. The expansion of this project in this phase and potential
future phases would increase the project area from 2.67 acres to
4.27 acres.
The purpose of the new project is to add a 15' lane to the boat ramp
with new floating docks and a kayak launch. New gravel parking is
proposed for vehicles without trailers and new concrete ADA spaces
are proposed for vehicles with trailers.
New ramp construction will include excavation and grading to match
existing ramp slope. An excavator bucket will be used to remove soil
from above the NWL as well as below. Dredged material will be
trucked off -site to local landfill. Rip -rap and gravel base material for
the ramp will be placed by excavator and graded by bulldozer. The
section of ramp below NWL will be poured on site above riparian
buffer line. Once cured, this slab will be pushed into place. Concrete
above NWL will then be formed and poured in -place. Abutment
concrete will then be poured and pre -constructed floating docks and
kayak launch will be installed. New ADA parking will include demolition
of existing concrete, excavation of existing soil for gravel base
course, and poured in -place concrete slab. New gravel parking will
include clearing of trees and underbrush, excavation of soil and
minor grading with back hoe and dozer to allow for placement of
gravel. General grading will occur outside of constructed areas to
maintain and enhance current drainage patterns. Upon completion,
wheel stops and signage will be installed and all disturbed areas will
seeded and strawed.
Please give a couple of dates you are available for a meeting.
