The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the A Place at the
Beach III WWTF on 9/21/2017. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is
operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Non -discharge Permit
No. WQ0004230. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the
enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".
There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a
response to this inspection report is not required.

Inspection Summary:
This facility is currently deemed compliant under permit number W00004230.
The spray fields are in good condition with little vegetative growth.
Generator and automatic transfer switch were tested and were both functional.
Flow meter has been calibrated within the last 12 months.
Effluent is clear and odorless.
High water alarms were tested and were functional.
Some of the wells are subject to standing water after heavy rainfall events. MW-6 is a flush mount -well head and should be
checked to make sure the well seal is watertight. Ammonia has recently been detected in in 2 monitoring wells. It was
noted in the last groundwater monitoring report that insufficient water is being purged prior to sampling. A total of three (3)
well volumes should be purged from the well prior to sampling. For the depth and casing diameter of these wells, this
amounts to approximately 5.5 gallons of water.
