Dear Ms. Karoly:
On June 29, 2006, Keller Environmental received your comments dated June
23, 2006 concerning Birchwood Homes. We are submitting the additional information
requested from written correspondence. We are requesting for NC Division of Water
Quality (NCDWQ) written approval under Section 401, Clean Water Act, 33 USC
1344. This will assist in compliance with Water Quality Certification (WQC) 3402 and
it's accompanying Nationwide Permit (NWP) 39. We have addressed your included
written comments in the following paragraphs.
1. Plan Details -Please show all wetlands and wetland impacts on the
same plat with the proposed development. Also, wetlands and
wetland impacts need to be distinguishable on the construction plat.
The wetlands and wetland impacts are the same shaded color on the
plan sheet.
To assist in wetland impact clarification, we have colored all wetland
impacts (0.249 acres) in red. A revised wetland identification map has also
been included showing the immediate area.
2. Easement Extension -Please clarify the easement extension as
referred to in Section 3, Item 10 of the Pre-construction Notification
Application.
Please disregard the "easement" language previously used. There is an
existing right-of-way for Par Drive from Golfers Lane as seen on the site plan.
