Subject: Inspection
US Highway 25
DWQ Project 08-1754
TIP No. R-505
Henderson County
Dear Mr. Setzer:
On December 2, 2010, I inspected the construction work on US Highway 25 between Interstate 26 and NC
Highway 225 in Henderson County. Most all of the construction work is taking place at the south end of the
project and in the median between lanes.
The inspection found that recent rains had moderately impacted the area with sediment loss mainly located in
roadway ditches and embankments. Some sediment and erosion control devices were affected by these storms
and repair work was already underway.
Please ensure that all sediment and erosion control structures are repaired and maintained and that seeding and
mulching are performed as needed to protect downstream waters. Please refer to the attached copy of the
inspection report for additional comments regarding the inspection.
If you have questions, please call me at 828-296-4500.
Sincerely,
Michael R. Parker

Recent heavy rains (7 to S inches) caused some damage and resulted in loss of sediment in several areas. Most
areas affected were ditch lines and embankments. Repair work was already underway to these areas.
Most all of the construction work is on the south end of the project or in the median.
Repair and maintain all sediment and erosion control devices.
Continue with seeding and matting as required to protect State surface waters.
