The DMR for the referenced facility for the above.referenced month was. submitted via the North
Carolina e-DMR system. Please find attached the signed hardcopies (one original and one copy) of the,
e-DMR submittal. During the referenced month, the wastewater treatment plant operated in compliance
with the effluent limitations specified in the subject permit. The comment section of e-DMR explains
that. on two dates during Decembeir '(12/19./17 and 12/27/17), the post -analysis Dissolved Oxygen (DO)
calibration verification yielded results which were more than .0.5. mg/L different than the theoretical DO. .
It is believed that meter was reading properly, however that for the post -analysis DO calibration
verification, insufficient time was -being allowed for the DO meter to stabilize after returing from outdoor
to indoor temperatures. The meter was calibrated on each of these dates and the pre -analysis verification
readings were within. 0.5 mg/L, of the theoretical DO. During January 2018, the lab modified their. .
procedures to allow greater time for instrument stabilization after returing to indoor temperatures.

Report Comments:
Upon completing QC review, it was found that on 12/19, the DO post -analysis calibration verification reading was more than 0.5 mg/L higher than the theoretical DO level. It
was also found that on 12/27, the DO post- analysis calibration verification reading was more than 0.5 mg/L lower than the theoretical DO level In both instances the meter was
calibrated prior to use and the DO pre -analysis calibration verification reading was within 0.5 mg/L of the theoretical level, as required. In both instances, it is our belief that the
meter was operating correctly, but that sufficient time was not allowed for the meter to stabilize after returning from outdoor to indoor temperatures. The post- analysis
verifications were completed almost immediately after returning indoors.
