Subject: Baldor Electric/ABB Motors and Mechanical Permit S-070 Close Out
Dear Gentlemen,
Baldor Electric Company/ABB Motors and Mechanical (Baldor) notified MSD that the Black Oxide Line
has been removed from the facility. As the associated process was the only process that discharged
wastewater to the Metropolitan Sewerage District of Buncombe County (MSD); MSD is closing the SIU
Permit S-070.
The last day of operation for the Black Oxide Line was May 8, 2020,and all equipment associated with
the line was removed by October 2,2020. MSD conducted a final inspection on November 11,2020,and
received the letter requesting the close out of the permit on December 3,2020.
As the process line and all waste associated with the line have been removed, the permit S-070 is hereby
rescinded, with no further sampling or reporting requirements necessary for this permit.
Baldor continues to have several processes which are categorical, however do not discharge to the
sewer. Because of these processes,MSD does require you to submit a Zero Discharge Permit Application
within 60 days.
If you have any questions, please contact Shannon Bergeron at sbergeron@msdbc.org or (828)225-
8230.
Sincerely,

This is to inform you of the removal of the Black Oxide Coating Process from the
Asheville facility. This is listed in the permit as MP-02. The last day of production for
this process was May 8th, 2020. All waste associated with this process was hauled by
Rineco on manifest 014304397 FLE on 8/19/2020. This consisted of one 275 gallon tote
of Tru Temp and two 275 gallon totes of Oxyprime/Safe Scrub. During the dates of
September 29th and October 2nd, the machinery was removed from the building and
hauled off site. This consisted of five chemical tanks, six rinse tanks, Gantry Loader, and
control box. The PH Adjust System was also included.
Since no industrial discharge is occurring, it is requested that permit S-070-17 be closed.
If more information is needed or a question arises, please do not hesitate to contact me.

your permit have been noted and greatly appreciated.
Should you have any questions, please contact me at sbergeron@msdbc.org or by phone at
